God made all the creatures, God made you and me.
God made all the creatures on the ground and in the trees,
God made all the creatures, he made them everyone.
God made all the creatures under the Hot Australian sun.
Leading up to NAIDOC week the Kindies were learning about Australian bush animals. We read stories both non-fiction and fiction, sang songs, played with animal puppets, went bush walking, cared for animals in our classroom vet, created bark art and made 3D spikey echidnas. Did you know a baby echidna is called a puggle?
The children loved the emu dance and the song "Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree".
One of the children's favourite stories was " Wombat Stew" by Mem Fox.
The children got to make their own ooey gooey yummy chewy wombat stew..... mud, feathers, flies, bugs and gumnuts.
The classroom bush fire with billy cans was a big hit!
The children learnt how to use tapping sticks to make music.
Exploring our surrounding bushland. The children were very curious about the tree sap and the spikey seapods.
We were lucky to have Max bring in Ziggy, his real life pet dog for news.
It was a very busy few weeks learning about Australian animals and celebrating NAIDOC week. The children truly deserve a break!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
